ADISS - Abu Dhabi International Sculpture Symposium 2010

 

15 international artists have been invited to Abu Dhabi to create their sculptures in a six weeks symposium on site. The event took place in collaboration with the Zayed University under the patronage of His Highness Sheik Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi. Artists working with stone were supported by assistants from the Aswan sculpture symposium in Egypt, very experienced stone workers. In Abu Dhabi I met my former assistant Mahmoud with whom I worked in Aswan in 2000. It was big pleasure to meet him again. I created the sculpture `Engery´ out of Gabbro from Turkey, a hard igneous rock. Read more >>
