Schoodic Maine / USA 2007

The first International Schoodic Sculpture Symposium took place at the beautiful site of Arcadia National Park in Maine. Seven international artists worked in front of the Rockefeller building surrounded by dense forest and the rough granite cliffs of the harsh beautiful coast. I created the sculpture `Sullivan Tower´ out of granite (h 510 cm) which is now located on Route 1 in the village of Sullivan, the origin of the stone. My sculpture friend Jesse Sailsbury, the artistic director of the Schoodic symposium, brought the idea of international sculpture symposium to Maine where five symposia where held since now. Also he was one of the initiators and advisors of `Sculpture Saint John´ which was held for the first time in 2012 in New Brunswick, Canada. Read more >>
